About Me

I have continuously worked as a tutor since I was a high school student myself. I graduated from Tulane University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a minor in Music. I worked for several years at College Track New Orleans, where I primarily taught ACT prep classes, in addition to helping students individually with their homework, test preparation, and college planning. I taught high school and middle school mathematics at New Orleans Charter Mathematics and Science High School (Sci High) and Patrick F. Taylor Science & Technology Academy respectively. In each of these roles, the students in my classes showed significant improvements across the board in their ACT and LEAP scores.

In my experience teaching and tutoring, I have observed that many students struggle with deficits developed early in their learning that compound as the years go on and the material becomes more difficult. I work with students to find and address these gaps in knowledge so they are properly prepared to approach the subject of focus. Many students also struggle with anxiety around testing and general performance, especially in mathematics. I help students address and manage their anxiety to boost their confidence in their academic abilities. I teach a variety of standardized testing strategies to better students' understanding of the test and make the overwhelming amount of material more approachable. This allows students to build confidence, improve efficiency, and focus on the key aspects of the material. Students leave my sessions with a wide range of tools in their arsenal to tackle difficult problems.
